Chamber Fest

Have you ever thought that someone should close down the main street in town - and then bring in a truckload of sand and toys and let the kids play? As crazy as that sounds - that is one of the greatest parts of chamber fest.

Chamber fest is held in Los Alamos, on a Saturday in June. The entire small business park on Central Ave shuts down and hundreds of businesses (members of the chambers of commerce) bring out tables to show stuff about their business. It feels like Halloween you take home so many promotional items. Cloth totes, first aid kits, pens, candy, water bottles, flowers, notepads, cups, piggy bank key chains, wallets, sunglasses, toys, bracelets and the list goes on. There is always a few food trucks and a few bounce houses (although you have to pay). Several businesses have games - CB Fox had a wheel you could spin for discount coupons - or for kids, rubber duckies they could pick for coupons to the toy store. Vets had kiddie pools set us for dogs to cool off. This is also a great place to make connections - I needed information from the ski hill - the radio station and other businesses in town and was able to make those contacts.
